Camille Gauthier - Paul Poinsignon - Art Deco furniture
Camille Gauthier (1870 –1963) followed classes at the "École des Beaux-Arts" in Nancy then, in 1891, the "École des Arts Décoratifs" in Paris. He started with Majorelle in 1893 as furniture maker. Some of his works were exhibited at the "Exposition universelle" in 1900. He created his own businness in 1901 thanks to the financial support of Paul Poinsignon, tapestry maker. Together they created the Gauthier-Poinsignon company. Like Emile Gallé and Louis Majorelle, he mechanized his workshop, this enabled him to create simple pieces of furniture while keeping a naturalist décor. (Source : Wikipedia.fr)
