Artistic background
Born in 1975 in Monaco, Marjorie GAGGINO grew up just a step from the Exotic Garden of Monaco, heaven of peace with a variety of luxuriant plants. She learns to draw and to model the clay from 1998 till 2001 at the Luchetti workshop in Florence. In 2002 and 2003, she practised the carving of the slate with a group of artists in Molini di Triora, in the Valley Argentina, Italy.

Artworks
Her art articulates around a representational and ornamental research inspired by Nature and its exuberant forms. Her sculptures and installations associate ceramic, slate and recycled materials (iron, wood, cork, glass). A work on the lightness and the balance of the volumes which manifest itself in playful and poetic creations.

Opinion
Being fond of Cactuses and nature in general, I noticed at once the delicacy emanating from Marjorie's work. She uses slate and terra cotta, natural, white or coloured, the material gives her sculptures a poetic dimension. Marjorie takes us to a universe where Nature is omnipresent and from where a sensation of strength and sweetness radiates. Every sculpture is worked in the slightest detail. Through her compositions and natural lines, we discover a very personal attitude, we are immediately plunged into a pleasant daydreaming state. . Cendrine Galipot
